Schmidt Tool & Manufacturing Mission
The Schmidt Tool name is synonymous with precision and reliability…. but more than that, our employees reflect our commitment to quality. Since 1981, it has been our policy to keep on the leading edge of technology. Our proudest accomplishment is maintaining our loyal customers. We realize that without them, we cease to grow.
Located near Lake Conroe, we have associated facilities in Houston and sales representatives in all of Texas and the surrounding states to service our customers' needs. Our pride in customer satisfaction and personal responsibility is the reason for our steady growth.
Many times, we have been asked why Schmidt Tool & Manufacturing started making manual steady rests 25 years after building a successful tool-making, CNC machining, wire EDM, and stamping business. It was born out of necessity! In 2004, we purchased a new CNC slant bed lathe from Houston-based Associated Machine Tool Technologies (AmTTech), and we asked them about a manual steady rest.
We were told it would be a nine-month wait! This began a close working relationship with them to design and build steady rests not only for our use but for all of their customers. AmTTech quickly became our largest steady rest distributor, and we now sell six unique steady rest styles to all of the major machine tool manufacturers and dealers across the US and in many countries around the world.
Our 44 years here in Willis, TX, of industrial designing, machining, tool making, and developing long-lasting customer relations have brought us this far. We are betting our future on this proven business formula.
